  • Celebration to honor three decades of empowering small businesses with millions of dollars in loans, fostering self-sufficiency, and strengthening local economies-- San Diego, CA -- Accessity, a nonprofit microlender empowering small businesses with loans of up to $100,000, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Thursday, October 17. Since its establishment in 1994, the organization has supported hundreds of small businesses each year, providing over $80 million in loans during its 30-year history. The organization will commemorate its 30th anniversary 2875 Dewey Road, on Thursday, October 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event will highlight the contributions of small businesses across Southern California and honor the significant impact Accessity has made over the past three decades. Guests will enjoy an array of delicious food and drink options as they mingle and connect with fellow attendees. The event will feature an Accessity-Funded Business Marketplace, where guests can explore and experience firsthand the diverse products offered by the small businesses that Accessity supports. Additionally, local entrepreneurs will share inspiring stories of success and perseverance. Tickets for the celebration are $81.88 through October 17. When the organization launched locally, it started with a small team of dedicated staff and made just five loans totaling $6,000 in its first year. In 2023 alone, Accessity provided $11.9 million in funding through 386 loans to business owners, resulting in the creation or maintenance of 1,248 jobs. The session will conclude with a circle share, allowing participants to connect and support one another through open-hearted conversation. This foundational class sets the tone for a nurturing and supportive series. 9/24 Birth Story Circles In this session, we create a sacred space for sharing and reflecting on our birth stories. Through guided discussion, we'll explore the powerful experiences of bringing new life into the world. Sharing these stories can be both healing and empowering, offering insight and connection with fellow mamas who have walked similar paths. This circle is a chance to celebrate, process, and find solace in our collective experiences. 10/1 Mental Health and Motherhood Navigating the journey of motherhood can bring a range of emotions and challenges. This session focuses on mental health and well-being, providing tools and support to manage stress, anxiety, and postpartum feelings. We’ll discuss strategies for self-care, mindfulness practices, and resources for emotional support, helping you to thrive both mentally and emotionally as a mama. 10/8 Pelvic Floor Recovery Flow This class is dedicated to understanding and nurturing your pelvic floor health post-birth. We’ll guide you through a gentle flow that focuses on strengthening and rehabilitating your pelvic floor, with an emphasis on comfort and safety. Learn effective exercises and techniques to support your body’s recovery and enhance overall well-being. 10/15 Breastfeeding, Bottle Feeding, Weaning & Solids Explore the essentials of feeding your little one in this informative session. We’ll cover topics ranging from breastfeeding and bottle feeding to weaning and introducing solids. This class provides practical advice, tips, and community support to help you navigate the evolving feeding journey with confidence and ease. 10/22 Expressive Art and Closing Circle In our final session, we embrace creativity and expression through art. This workshop encourages you to explore your emotions and experiences through collaging and vision board creation. We’ll conclude the series with a closing circle, where we reflect on our shared journey, celebrate our growth, and reinforce the bonds formed within the Mama Village. Sessions will be interactive, encouraging open dialogue and the sharing of personal experiences. We believe in the power of connection, and through our sessions, we aim to foster an inclusive and non-judgmental atmosphere where all moms can feel supported and understood.
