  • Join us for a fun still-life oil painting workshop inspired by a colorful summer tea party. All aspects of still-life painting will be covered in this two-day workshop: perspective, composition, color, and accuracy will be taught using a tabletop arrangement of cups, saucers, teapots, and flowers. Bright colors and a square format will encourage experimentation. Grab a coffee; we will begin each morning with a PowerPoint lesson followed by a demo on the painting process and technique. Afterward students will paint independently for the remainder of the morning. As the paintings progress, students will learn through discussion of creative issues and group critique. Pat welcomes students of all levels. Materials: A $5 fee will be paid to Pat on the first day of class. Robin Adler, and her husband, guitarist Dave Blackburn, have devoted the last 18 years to exploring the fascinating music of the iconic Joni Mitchell, through its many incarnations over the decades. Together with their band, named Mutts of the Planet after a lyric line in one of Mitchell’s songs, Adler and Blackburn have performed six of Joni’s albums in their entirety, and released two albums of their own of original arrangements. Robin is widely known around the world as one of the premier vocalists to perform Joni Mitchell’s work. Joining Robin and Dave will be keyboardist Barnaby Finch and Jim Reeves on bass.
