Rhapsody in Blue, Porgy and Bess, An American in Paris are much loved. While it is true that he took the rhythms and melodies of jazz to a whole new, respectable level, several others helped him. David Lewis retired from MiraCosta College after 29 years of teaching adult music appreciation. He also teaches for the OSHER program at Cal State San Marcos and is the founder and director of the San Luis Rey Chorale and is director of Music at Trinity Episcopal Church in Escondido. He has entertained our life audience over the years 32 times!
