  • Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego’s Balboa Park location presents its fall exhibitions. For her first exhibition in San Diego, Nathalie Miebach’s "Restless Waters" show will include a new sculpture based on California’s extreme weather. Miebach foregrounds the human relationship to data in her meticulously researched practice, and uses basket-weaving techniques to transform materials into sculpture, wall installations, and more to describe our reciprocal relationship with data. This exhibition runs Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 - Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025. The ICA Central mezzanine will be the site of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s celebrated "Remote Pulse," in partnership with Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), which invites visitors to participate in a cross-border activation using identical pulse-sensing stations—a powerful reminder of both our shared humanity and the vast inequities of life on the US-Mexico border. This exhibition runs Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 - Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025. Museum Hours: Thursday–Sunday Noon to 5 p.m. Monday–Wednesday Closed Directions ICA San Diego on Facebook / Instagram
