Puppet Lab: Breathing Life into Story is an invitation to discover the magic of ensemble puppetry. No experience necessary-- just a willingness to have serious fun. First, learn more about the amazing world of puppetry (it's not just socks and Muppets!) and explore the basic principles of breath, focus, and movement. Then, work together in a small group to breathe life into your own Bunraku-style puppet character and devise original short stories to share. Warning: This workshop may culminate in a puppet/puppeteer dance-off. This workshop will take place in Hattox Hall, part of the Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center if The Old Globe in beautiful Balboa Park.
