Sundays, November 2, 9, 16, 23, December 7, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Learn the fascinating and ancient art form of ceramics with Meg, a full time potter, in this 5-week wheel series. Whether you’re a beginner or intending to deepen your relationship, all are welcome to experience the world of clay in this fun and friendly environment. By focusing on techniques to confidently create functional and aesthetic pottery, we will learn creative design, how to throw on the wheel, trimming and glazing! Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class. Beginners welcome. Open to all, the festival brings together Francophone authors, educators, artists, and students for a rich, immersive experience across San Diego. We are proud to welcome acclaimed author Éric Fottorino as our Literary Guest of Honor, and Ann Craig as our Honorary Patron alongside a distinguished lineup of local and international voices. Éric Fottorino is an acclaimed French journalist, novelist, and co-founder of some of France’s most innovative literary publications. A former reporter, editor-in-chief, and publisher at Le Monde, he is the author of over forty books, including sixteen novels published by Gallimard. His work has earned him numerous literary awards, including the Prix Femina and the France Télévisions Prize. Passionate about cycling, storytelling, and the power of the written word, Fottorino brings a singular voice to contemporary French literature. He is also the co-creator of Le 1, America, Zadig, and Légende—print magazines that champion in-depth journalism and creative expression. We are honored to welcome Éric Fottorino as the Guest of Honor of the San Diego French Literature and Arts Festival. The ICE detention center in Folkston, Ga., is expanding to become one of the nation's largest immigrant detention centers. Operated by a private prison corporation GEO Group, it will hold more than 3,000 detainees.

Downtown’s The Whiskey House, which holds the Guinness World Record for Most Variety of Whiskeys Available, is hosting its July Whiskey Club Event on Wednesday, July 16 with Fallon, NV’s Frey Ranch Farmers + Distillers, the most awarded distillery at the 2025 American Spirits Council of Tasters Awards with 27. Tickets are $45 (plus fee). The interactive evening begins at 6 p.m. and includes a welcome cocktail, 0.5-oz pours of four selections to sip (Straight Bourbon 90 Proof, Rye Whiskey Bottled in Bond 5-year 100 Proof, Straight Bourbon Cask Strength Farm Strength Uncut 123.88 Proof, Wheat Whiskey Single Grain Series 102 Proof), and a food menu of charcuterie, pork sliders, and wings.
