California lawmakers are advancing a measure that would curb journalists’ access to their home addresses and contact information through their voter registration records, an attempt watchdog groups say hinders the public’s ability to hold politicians accountable.

For over 20 years, the Maritime Museum of San Diego has been proud to host popular, award-winning educational events that provide exceptional hands-on learning experiences for youth and student groups year-round. Scouts BSA youth are invited to earn their Oceanography Merit Badge at the Maritime Museum of San Diego by attending one of three engaging Saturday classes. Each session runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and scouts need only attend one class to complete the badge requirements. This unique program gives local scouts a chance to dive deep into oceanography—right in the heart of San Diego’s waterfront. Through a dynamic mix of field work, hands-on lab activities, and thought-provoking discussion, Oceanography Merit Badge Days immerse participants in the many branches of oceanographic research. Each scout or group must be accompanied by at least one parent or adult chaperone. All Scouts BSA Youth Protection guidelines must be followed. Reservations must be made online in advance. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact your troop leader ahead of time to request your Oceanography Merit Badge and bring your signed Blue Card to class. Ensure at least one adult leader accompanies each scout or group. Tickets also include general admission so you may stay after class to explore the Museum fleet and all of the below-deck exhibits! $59.00 per participating scout. $24.00 per accompanying adult. She has a master’s degree in painting in Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art, where she studied at the portrait-genre workshop under the guidance of professors Victor Chaus and Vasily Ganotskiy. Among her many accolades, she has been a curator of the Drawing Studio at the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia. In 2017 she opened a studio of academic painting ‘V-ART’ and taught painting, drawing, plastic anatomy, coloring, and composition at the collegiate level. In 2022, she was evacuated to the USA due to the war in Ukraine. Over the past 2 years she has created around 300 paintings, and takes part in art shows throughout San Diego. “I think it is, like musical notes, that in painting, we do not have borders, we do not have words, and we have Inspiration… Pure Inspiration is indescribable; you can just feel and take it.
