"REWIND" is a nostalgic and joy-filled group art exhibition that invites viewers to reflect on the memories, laughter, and moments that have shaped who we are. Presented by Art Through the Glass, the show transforms vacant storefronts into alternative art gallery spaces that reconnect the community with creativity, play, and storytelling. Featuring works including painting, photography, mixed media, and installation art, the exhibition explores themes of childhood joy, humor, cultural memory, and personal history. Each window acts as a time capsule welcoming view "REWIND: You Had to Be There… And Now You Can" is a nostalgic group art exhibition at Chula Vista Center, presented by Art Through the Glass. Featuring works that celebrate laughter, memory, and joy, the show invites viewers to reconnect with the moments that still make them smile. From childhood play to family gatherings, this exhibition turns forgotten corners into vibrant spaces for reflection, celebration, and artists to pause, smile, and remember. This year 315 artists entered about 900 works for consideration. Juror Malcolm Warner, art historian and curator, selected the final 29 artists and 29 works to exhibit. Prizewinners, including the recipient of the Leslie Von Kolb Memorial Award, will be announced at the opening reception on Friday, July 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. The 24th year of this fantastic event features 53 great films from 7 different popular arts genres including Action/Adventure, Animation, Comics-Oriented, Documentary (Popular Arts-Oriented), Horror/Suspense, Humor, and Science Fiction/Fantasy. We have participating filmmakers from all over the world, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The schedule also includes the return of the popular ongoing panel series Comic-Con Film School, a daily series of how-to panels on filmmaking, plus additional film-related panels on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On Sunday, the CCI-IFF Awards will be presented, followed by screenings of the award-winning films. This year’s judges are visual development supervisor at Marvel Studios Ian Joyner, senior illustrator, storyboard artist, and visual development artist Jasmine Alexia Jackson, and legendary actor Keone Young. The CCI-IFF takes place in the Marriott Marquis and Marina Hotel, next door to the Hall A side of the convention center.
