  • Ronson spent a year creating Barbie's music, with the help of artists like Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith and Billie Eilish. "Everyone ran with it and did something different," he says.
  • Formed in 2015, Flasher was born out of Washington, D.C.’s newly resurgent underground music scene. In that context, the trio stood out. They were urgent and wiry, but could also convey a cool and authentic tenderness. A year later, when the city was leaden with post-election gloom, Flasher could remind you – however fleetingly – that pleasure was still a possibility. They released an EP and a 7” single on Sister Polygon Records before joining Domino for Constant Image. The record was critically adored and ceaselessly toured. When the D.C. trio finally took a breath nearly two years later it was at an unmistakable high point. Flasher had hit the road alongside its heroes, scored spots on festival bills, and packed hometown shows. This is an 21+ event SOCIALS: Facebook Twitter Instagram

  • For the first time, the band members, their crew and their fans tell the story of a landmark moment they didn't realize was happening. Sonic Youth's new album, Live in Brooklyn 2011, is out this week.
  • During a stretch of unexpected downtime following the release of "Be Good" in 2019, Ryan and Kyle decided to return to The Hideaway studios in Minneapolis with long time collaborator Dan Jensen to simply enjoy trying to record some OWTH songs with a different approach. What came from that session was a collection of songs released as the album "Character" on Anxious and Angry. Before being able to tour on said release, the pandemic sidetracked every musician's work for the foreseeable future. "Character", without touring support, managed to crack #63 Billboard's "Top Current Albums" the week of it's release. Because the pressing has long since sold out, Anxious and Angry decided to combine it with the previous stripped down record (Won't Be Missed) into a double LP on limited edition color vinyl. Titled "Calm / Collected", OWTH is picking up where the pandemic cut them off and embarking on a full US tour which will see the band taking the different approach to the songs in a live setting. "It's somewhere between a full on OWTH show and Ryan playing an acoustic guitar by himself. Nobody wants to see that", said Kyle Manning when asked what was to be expected of the tour. "Ryan and I want to do this purely for spirit. It's been a shitty few years and we want to travel and have some singalongs all while looking at this music through a different lens." • Kate Clover is a songwriter and musician from Los Angeles, California. From the local lineage of bands like X, Germs, and The Gun Club, to the glamorous destitution of the downtown streets, Clover is inspired by the city that raised her, exploring the intricacies of self-discovery, self-creation, and self-preservation in the place where dreams are born to die. With the live-wire energy and crackling force of defiant fists raised in the air, Clover’s music is the rallying cry of a natural born killer. Leading an ace band of rangy, rowdy boys, Clover cuts an electric figure--a next-gen underground hero for the would-be believers. With Patti Smith and Iggy pop as her artistic North Stars, Clover mastered three chords and defected to art school, where she learned to play “Chinese Rocks” by Johnny Thunders, and wrote her first song. She cut her teeth playing in various projects but was determined to go solo, seeking independence and total control. In 2019 she parted ways with her former bands and was in search of a new start. In need of self-discovery and an escape from her life in America, she headed to Mexico City to write. A four day trip turned into four months, as Clover decided to stay and record her album. Upon her return to the US she assembled a band and quickly carved out a space for herself in the LA scene. Earning a rep for explosive live shows. This is a 21+ event SOCIALS: Instagram

  • Mr Twin Sister formed in 2008 under the name Twin Sister, quickly garnering critical attention from the dense homemade pop of their early EPs – "Vampires with Dreaming Kids" in 2008 and "Color Your Life" in 2010. They have been a quietly influential fixture of independent music ever since. The group released their debut LP "In Heaven" (2011) via Domino, and in 2012 their song "Meet the Frownies" was sampled by Kendrick Lamar and Dr Dre on The Recipe. Having left Domino and changed their name to Mr Twin Sister, the group re-emerged in 2014 with the low lit disco and funk of their self-titled Mr Twin Sister. The record appeared on best-of-year lists from Pitchfork, Gorilla vs Bear, TIME, and many others. In 2018 the group released Echo Arms, their most popular track to date, and Salt, their third and most diverse album yet. 2021 saw the release of the group’s fourth full length LP Al Mundo Azul, a vibrant, surreal record that swaps the group’s restrained cool for something wide awake and grinning. Mr Twin Sister has made a habit of swerving the expectations of their devoted following and critical outlets alike, recombining musical styles and dodging easy categorization as a matter of course. • Crywank was started in Manchester in 2009 by Jay Clayton as a solo project despite having no previous experience playing guitar. The project started the night Clayton learnt their first two chords and wrote the songs (Welcome to Castle Irwell and Thomas Saunders Gang Chant). Lyrically focusing on the end of their first relationship and musically heavily influenced by American folk punk and anti-folk, their first album "James is Going To Die Soon" became a cult favourite on the internet, both for its charm and many flaws. After their first release Crywank began to play with and subvert the role of singer songwriter. Shifting the focus from self-pity to self-criticism and fluctuating from hard-hitting confessionals to tongue-in-cheek deconstructions resulted in Crywank’s "sad-but-fun" sound. Dan Watson (ex-GNOD, Denim & Leather, Prangers) joined the band in 2012 on percussion and began to implement approaches and influences not often seen within ‘anti-folk’, at points going into d-beat and blastbeats. Crywank have since self-released eight records and have amassed a dedicated following online. Despite being self-managed, unsigned and their name getting in the way of radio play or press coverage, Crywank have had over 100 million streams and have toured internationally. Crywank announced they would be breaking up in July 2020 following a world tour, but this was cut short after five continents due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After two years of hiatus and an impromptu solo album following a housefire, Crywank are back performing live again, both as a solo project and a full band. SOCIALS: Facebook Twitter Instagram
