This film, directed by Philip Gnadt and Mickey Yamine and produced by Little Bridge Pictures, debuted at the 2016 Toronto Film Festival after 5 years of collecting footage on the Mediterranean coast of Palestine. Witness the incredible story of surfers in Gaza who find personal freedom and joy amid enduring occupation and conflict. We will have food and drinks to purchase including offerings from a local Palestinian vendor. All proceeds from ticket sales will be distributed to organizations and mutual aid funds supporting families in Gaza. Guests are encouraged to donate as they are able. House Rules: Keep it Cute! About Queer Surf Queer Surf is a California-based community organization aimed at making the ocean more accessible through knowledge sharing and skill building. Founded in 2015 by former professional surfer Kyla Langen and insatiable boogie boarder/mental health professional Nic Brise, Queer Surf reduces barriers and helps the LGBTQ+ community navigate all aspects of ocean recreation. Through a host of programs and events including lessons, clinics, camps, meet-ups, tide-pooling, kayaking, book clubs, and more, Queer Surf builds community and fosters a safer space for nonbinary, trans, and queer people at the coast. Though it is one of Shakespeare’s greatest and most beloved plays, Hamlet has been repeatedly misunderstood. This is partly because audience assumptions about the nature of reality have undergone huge changes between Shakespeare’s time and ours.

San Diego's renowned Songwriter Sanctuary series is back on April 26 at Normal Heights United, featuring a lineup of local troubadours including Calman Hart, Missy Alcazar, and Bug Guts. Joining them as our guest host is acclaimed poet and spoken word artist Lizzie Wann. About the Musicians Calman Hart, born in Woods Cross City, Utah, began his musical journey in high school, eventually making San Diego his home. With acclaimed albums like "Red-Eyed & Blue" and "Train in the Distance," he's been a staple in the city's music scene for decades as a solo artist and alongside Jeff Berkley as part of acclaimed duo Berkley Hart. Bug Guts, (rosebud and Scott Ireland) met during San Diego's punk scene heyday. After a transformative acoustic jam session, they embarked on a musical journey, releasing over a dozen albums. With a blend of Alternative, Folk, Punk, and Americana influences, their live performances are known for their infectious and playfully provocative energy. Missy Alcazar is a professional dueling pianist known for her dynamic performances. She's the first resident female dueling pianist at Disneyland's "Showdown At The Golden Horseshoe" and has had her songs featured on TV shows like "90 Day Fiance." Active in philanthropy, Missy is working on establishing The Melba Foundation to provide free music lessons and instruments to under-resourced communities. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., Show starts at 7:00 p.m. Suggested Donation: $10 (all ages), with all proceeds directly supporting the artists. Donations are encouraged but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
