The 101 Artists’ Colony invites you to the final Arts Alive Encinitas event of 2025, a Live Auction at Cardiff Town Center in the courtyard on July 13, 2025 1:30 p.m. This is when all 60 of the Arts Alive banners that have been hanging on the Coast Hwy light poles will be auctioned off with professional auctioneer Rich Houk at the helm. The Exhibit will be on display all morning. At 1:30 p.m., bidders can register to get a Bid Card to protect “silent” bids they’ve already made or to bid for the first time! Boosted by #BookTok and shaped by the influence of fan fiction, the book genre is topping bestseller lists and drawing huge crowds at Comic-Con. But for all its success, it's often a target of ridicule. We look at what people get wrong about the misunderstood genre, and why it's connecting with so many readers right now.

San Diego’s Back Pocket Whiskey Fellas have developed a reputation among local craft breweries, Irish Pubs and at numerous outdoor events for its rousing, crowd-pleasing, eclectic performances. Often incorporating and encouraging crowd participation, with a playlist that runs the gamut from Irish traditional, classic country, bluegrass, and classic rock, drawing a wide range of appeal for all ages. This eight piece acoustic band was founded in the summer of 2011 by San Diego rock band veterans: Jack Laux, Steve Hoshko, and George Davis, looking to explore the connections between Irish traditional and American roots, and infusing a rock band delivery, while still utilizing all acoustic instruments. The Fellas are proud to share that their third CD, "Third Flagon," has won the prestigious 2023 San Diego Music Awards’ “Best Local Recording”. The Fellas have all three of their albums, including "Second Pint and First Flask," available on Amazon and iTunes. They have their own music station featured on Pandora as well. 2024 will have the Fellas playing as many events, clubs, and music festivals as possible across the western U.S., hoping to share their music with as many fans as possible. With autumn in the air, sweaters may come out, and we seek the vibrant fall colors of golden cottonwoods and rose-colored pickleweed. Autumn is the perfect time to explore. We may search prickly pear cactus for cochineal, a tiny insect that produces the brilliant red dye we call carminic acid, used to brighten everything from lipstick to yogurt to artists’ paints. The event is weather permitting. Wildlife is unpredictable; there is no guarantee of what you will see. Nature Collective is a local conservation and science education nonprofit organization. They work to restore habitats, provide healthier waters, and increase wildlife diversity. They are dedicated to conserving the land and providing experiences for people to fall in love with nature. The 13th annual Ramona Art, Wine & Music Festival is returning to Begent Ranch in Ramona, Calif., on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. One of San Diego County’s most popular festivals, we will have over 50 booths featuring artists, artisans, wineries, and craft beverage makers, with live music all day long! The primary fundraiser at the festival is our famous live auction, featuring wine barrels and furniture embellished by local artists. Once again, one of San Diego’s most popular emcees, the entertaining Josh Lawson, will be our auctioneer. The silent auction will feature 50+ baskets, with something for everyone! By popular demand, we are adding more variety with food trucks. Complimentary catered small bites will therefore no longer be offered, and the good news is that ticket prices have been reduced by $15. Designated Driver tickets are also available. Proceeds from this event benefit the Ramona H.E.A.R.T. Mural Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been beautifying Ramona one mural at a time: currently 31 large-scale murals and counting, plus 17 mini-murals (painted utility boxes).
