Proceeds benefit our free teen art program. A week prior, on January 4th, participating artists will donate 24 hours of their time to creating the artworks. In five four-hour sessions students will experience a comprehensive introduction to woodworking and woodworking machines. Students will build their own cutting board and a stool to take home. During this class, students will: Operate a drill press, router table, drum sander, and other stationary sanding machines safely. Learn to use glue and clamps. Learn how to square lumber. Learn how to prepare a project for finishing and apply a finishing product.
