Please note there is no class on April 25, 2026. Characters and characterization make or break a novel, and as a writer, you must know not only how to construct a person from the ground up, but also how to skillfully relate that character to your readers through action and thought. This means that complicated backstories are not the be-all-end-all to characters. We need to understand the personalities within our writing. This process can be tricky, but it is a lot of fun. Once you have it down, you’ll never forget it. This course will focus on three main areas of study: - Character Theory - Psychology - Subtext By the time you finish this course, you will not only have fully formed characters that fit your story and style, you’ll know how to use them, too.
