  • Each year, Dutch in the Netherlands and abroad commemorate the birthday of King Willem Alexander with a full day of music, food, and celebrating Dutch culture known as Koningsdag or King’s Day. Wooden shoes are not required to attend this fun family event which will have a Dutch DJ spinning a variety of music from Dutch traditional to modern favorites. We will have a variety of food including: bitterballen (rolled croquettes), frietjes (french fries with sauces), frikandellen, poffertjes, and more! Kids will also have games and fun hosted by our Dutch School and a silent auction with some great items that benefits the school. This magical, family-friendly ballet about the unexpected power of love is based on Shakespeare’s classic comedy and set to the enchanting music of Mendelssohn. Following the romantic adventures and misadventures of two pairs of mortal lovers, a mystical king and queen, an artist transformed into a donkey, and a mischievous fairy named Puck. The SDCYB presentation of their newest show will be an abbreviated version of the full performance, directed by SDCYB Artistic Director Danika Pramik-Holdaway, preceding its show run at the historic Casa del Prado Theatre, April 6-8, 2023.
