Join us for candle making magic with local chandler and Carruth member, Lisa! In this interactive workshop, you will get to customize your own scent and learn the basics of the candle craft. Each participant will create and take home one 7-oz soy candle with a vibrant (premade) beeswax succulent on top. Choose from various ombre clear jars and succulents to make a unique candle. Candle fragrance options for the event have been specially curated to match the spring theme! All candle making tools and supplies will be provided and wine and food will be available for purchase. The instruments are the first successful attempt to create an acoustically balanced set of instruments that can sound truly like violins across the entire range of written music. With instruments ranging from the tiny treble violin, tuned one octave above the standard violin, to the gigantic large bass violin, tuned one octave lower than a 'cello, the Hutchins Consort produces an astonishing palette of sounds.

To inspire the next generation of science leaders, Ocean Discovery Institute creates learning experiences for young people traditionally excluded from science due to race, income status, and educational opportunity. Our students will join high-paying fields, break generational poverty, and change the future of science.
