This body of work explores the unintended beauty found in convex security mirrors, those circular sentinels fixed to corners, ceilings, and alleyways. Captured in stark black and white, these 80 photographs are not just reflections of the physical world, but portals into the unnoticed layers of modern life. Framed by the curve of the mirror, the city folds into itself, distorted, duplicated, isolated. In every image, I invite the viewer to pause, to see not just what is reflected, but how we are reflected. These mirrors do not protect or judge; they simply witness. Through this project, I am asking a quiet question: When we see ourselves being seen, what is revealed? Why choose The Metta Space to feature your art collection? Trinity Theatre Company is thrilled to announce their Grown Up Stage’s production of "IFs (Imaginary Friends)" by Thomas J. Misuraca running from November 28th - December 14th. The production is directed by Mia Spencer. "IFs (Imaginary Friends)" runs at Trinity’s Mission Valley location in the Mission Valley Mall. She laments with her other recently released imaginary friends, knowing unless something changes, they’ll cease to exist. When their peer Dab, confesses that he’s been hanging out with an older woman who can see him, the others want to meet her. Bea ends up only able to see Pippin, but introduces them to some of her senior friends, and all but one imaginary friend now have real friends once again. But dealing with older friends has its challenges. Bea’s daughter, Jenna, is overly concerned for her mother. Even more so after Bea breaks her hip while “playing” with her friends. As Bea’s health continues to decline, her friends must fight for their rights as older folks. Trinity Theatre Artistic Director, Sean Boyd shared “We are big fans of Thomas Miscuraca’s work at Trinity Theatre Company and have shared a number of his pieces over the years including 'The Stark Truth of Humanity' and 'A Good Game.' In April of this year - we presented a staged reading of 'IFs (Imaginary Friends)' in our third annual New Works Festival. This wonderfully heartfelt and moving piece was so strong and well received - that we wanted to see it really on its feet - and programmed it into our season. Other Places art fair (OPaf) is heading south for the first time. The inaugural OPaf South, co-presented with San Diego-based Harvest & Gather, will transform the California Center for the Arts, Escondido into a day-long meeting ground for artists, ideas, and neighbors on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free, with a suggested $5 donation to sustain future programming. Since 2017, OPaf has championed unconventional and underrepresented artists, artist-run spaces, and art programming that resists the constraints of the traditional art world. OPaf South extends this ethos to new terrain, creating an inclusive, outdoor–indoor platform for artists of all backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. This first edition will feature over thirty booths and installations from local, regional, and international participants, as well as performances, readings, talks. American Broadcast journalist Judy Woodruff will be a featured guest at the 31st Annual Writer's Symposium by the Sea, "Writing Across the Divide." Judy Woodruff is an acclaimed American broadcast journalist known for her decades-long career covering politics and current events. She is also the author of the book "This Is Judy Woodruff at the White House." Woodruff began her journalism career in the early 1970s and became one of the most respected figures in television news. Woodruff served as a White House correspondent for NBC, co-anchored CNN’s Inside Politics, and later became the anchor and managing editor of the PBS NewsHour, where she was celebrated for her fairness, depth, and integrity. Renowned for her calm, balanced reporting and commitment to journalistic integrity, Woodruff has covered every U.S. presidential election since 1976. Her work has earned her numerous honors, including Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, and the Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award. She has also been recognized by the Poynter Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism and inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
