  • Madison Gallery in Solana Beach will present "Four Seasons Interrupted" by internationally acclaimed Bosnian artist Radenko Milak, on view October 15 through December 15, 2025. Known for representing Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 57th Venice Biennale, Milak debuts a striking new series of 12–14 large-scale watercolors exploring climate disruption and the disappearance of seasonal rhythms. Set against the backdrop of New York City, these meticulously rendered works blur the line between painting and photography, creating a dreamlike tension between time, memory, and nature. "All these works move between fiction and reality. They resemble something familiar, scenes we seem to recognize, yet they do not truly exist. The entire series is conceived as a gap between what is real and what is imagined... a rupture where a new perception emerges," says Milak. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, November 8, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. RSVP is required; please call 858-523-9155 or email info@madisongalleries.com to attend. • Learn to weave a bread basket! Saturday, July 19, from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Basketry is an ancient art, practiced by many peoples and cultures. Traditional basket makers used readily available materials, such as sweet grass, pine needles, willow, and thin strips of ash or oak. Marsha teaches Appalachian-style basketry which is a functional form of basketry used for everyday activities. Thus, the basket names often reflect their functions, such as Market Basket, Egg Basket, Herb Drying Basket, and others. Wow your friends and enhance your table with a hand woven Bread Basket. This basket is suitable for beginning basket weavers and includes basic weaving skills that you can use for many future projects. You’ll have a choice of colors for the center section and top off your creation with real leather handles. The Bread Basket measures 12” long x 5” wide and 5” high. No experience necessary. Ages 18+ welcome. Students: Please bring sturdy scissors and an old towel if you can! • Military, first responders and sibling discounts. • Scholarships available. • Homeschool funds accepted. • If this class is full, join the Interest List to be notified. • If you would like to be notified of future offerings, join the Interest List to be notified when new dates or spaces are available.
