Their unique sound infuses Hawaiian ukulele, roots reggae, and hint of R & B and pop, elevating their already distinctive reggae sound to new and popular heights. The band's name: Kolohe means “rascal," which founding member, Roman De Peralta’s family called him as a child. Kai means "ocean" or “saltwater,” right in tune with the band’s love of surfing and the Hawaiian ocean waters. She has had the honor of accompanying San Diego jazz legend Charles McPherson, and other local notable musicians such as Leonard Patton, Gary Rich and David Borgo.
