  • Join Scott Farrell, program director of Chivalry Today and head instructor with the San Diego Longsword medieval fencing program, for a look into the language, function, and artistry of knightly armor in Shakespeare’s world. From the glory of Henry V, to the supernatural apparitions of Hamlet, to the treachery of Macbeth, arms and armor appear over and over in Shakespeare’s works, and a thorough understanding of the “visual language” of medieval and Renaissance armor lends a much deeper, more nuanced understanding of many of his stories and characters. • "Resonance is a free, all-ages event hosted by St. Brigid’s Episcopal Church and Oceanside Theatre Company, that builds community through creative expression. Held in OTC's Studio 219 (219 North Coast Highway), this is a space for all creatively-inclined people — artists, musicians, writers, and more — to showcase their work and to practice spontaneous creation together. It’s not quite an open mic, jam session, drum circle, or art night — but it has elements of all of these. All are welcome to participate as much or as little as they choose. If you’d prefer to just come and enjoy the vibe and performances, you are welcome to do that too." Visit: Resonance Collaborative Open Mic Oceanside Theater Company on Instagram and Facebook

  • This is an all ages event at Quartyard - San Diego. The Strike is a three-member band based in Los Angeles, CA including frontman Chris Crabb, Jay Tibbitts (drums), and David Maemone (keys/guitar). The Strike released their debut album "Faint of Heart" in June of 2017, which was met with great enthusiasm nationally. The success of the record allowed them to expand their presence into Los Angeles from the greater Mountain West region where the band started. In 2022 the band signed with Nettwerk Music Group and released their follow-up album “The Lost Years,” which helped them garner national attention and begin touring. The Strike will be releasing their third studio album in the Fall of 2024. The album was recorded with acclaimed producer John Fields (Switchfoot, Ben Rector, Corey Wong). The Strike is known for their captivating live performances. In an age of musical minimalism, The Strike is reminiscent of rock bands from the 70's and 80's. They feature true showmanship in an age where the art of performance has been forgotten. Chris Crabb's vocal style is akin to rock vocalists such as John Waite, or Steve Perry. The band members are all students at their craft. Those who attend Strike shows become instant fans. Visit: https://dice.fm/event/2wdvqp-the-strike-26th-jun-quartyard-san-diego-tickets?
