  • For those of you who missed this event when it was held in February, you now have another chance on April 21. Gather around our cheetah area for a Meet and Greet! Enjoy some snacks and beverages during this event, and meet Tavi the cheetah, and Yara, his yellow Lab BFF. And, you’ll have a relaxed Meet and Greet with Jackie Navarro, Wild Wonders’ Founder and Director. Tavi and Yara are great friends, and have been inseparable since they were introduced a little over 2 years ago. Jackie will talk about the cheetah conservation organizations she has befriended in her 20+ trips to Africa. You’ll hear heartwarming stories about the programs that they have in place, and the successes and challenges they have faced. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to cheetah conservation. Cheetah, Cheese, and Crackers will take place on Sunday, April 21, from 11 a.m. – Noon.   • The California State Games is the largest Olympic-style sports festival in the state with 24+ sports from Archery to Softball at venues all across San Diego County. The California State Games is a nonprofit organization and the largest amateur sports festival in the state. As a community-based member of the United States Olympic Committee, we have hosted our Olympic-style event since 1988. Our mission is to promote and nurture the health, education, and competitive spirit of residents of California by managing a quality amateur sports event that encourages participation and provides an Olympic experience. Athletes from all over California compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in dozens of sports awarded in a medal ceremony. They also are a part of our annual Opening Ceremonies at Pechanga Arena on July 19, 2024. In true Olympic fashion, athletes connect at the OC in the Athlete Fun Zone (modeled from the Olympic Village), walk in an Athlete Parade representing their sports, and enjoy live entertainment.
