  • “Consciousness is not computational.” ― Roger Penrose, mathematician and theoretical physicist Join our monthly fellowship as we share metaphysical insights from the Divine on a variety of topics and current affairs. This month, Dimitri will explore the explosion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the spiritual perspective. The growing sophistication of modern computing power has given rise to much speculation both in terms of potential for society and what it means for intelligence itself. Some have gone on to say not only are these systems intelligent but potentially conscious and self-aware. Yet from the metaphysical perspective to have intelligence, you have to have life. Computers are not alive and never will be. So what is really happening here The advances in AI is not first a call for computers; it’s a call for us. It’s a call to raise the bar of our own intelligence. As a civilization, we have entered into an era of great spiritual opportunity. To succeed, we need to develop the greater powers of our own mind and elevate our consciousness to new heights. Rightly used, AI can be a wonderful tool to help strengthen the power of mind. Meditations with Divine Light, world prayers and music will be part of the fellowship. There has never been a better time to pursue your soul’s growth. We welcome you in the great spiritual adventure! Visit: Golden Chalice Fellowship – Is Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent ? Spiritual Arts Institute on Instagram and Facebook
  • Get ready to embark on an epic, fantasy-fueled 90s adventure when "She Kills Monsters," the fast-paced comedy by acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen, comes to the stage this December. Directed by Heather Megill, this fantastical production will run from Dec. 6 – 15, 2024, with performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre at Palomar College’s San Marcos campus. In this comedic and heartwarming adventure into the world of Dungeons & Dragons, "She Kills Monsters" follows Agnes Evans, a 24-year-old English teacher in Athens, Ohio, in the year 1995. After losing her parents and younger sister Tilly in a car crash, she delves into Tilly’s role-playing game campaign to uncover the truth about Tilly’s secret life. What begins as a simple quest to understand her sister’s hidden world soon escalates into a wild, action-packed journey, where Agnes faces off against homicidal fairies, menacing creatures, and the mother of dragons, Tiamat. As Agnes immerses herself in the fantastical realm Tilly created, she not only battles fantastical monsters but also confronts her fears, grief, and long-held misconceptions about her sister. Qui Nguyen’s script masterfully blends humor, fantasy, and self-discovery, creating a thrilling homage to the geek culture that has shaped generations of fans. Full of vibrant characters and explosive battles, "She Kills Monsters" also explores themes of identity, family, and the power of storytelling, making it a must-see for theatergoers of all backgrounds. “This show is an epic journey through a fantastical land straight into the human heart,” director Heather Megill shares. “It is a humorous story of grief, growth, acceptance, and love, through which we realize that sometimes the monsters we battle are within us. 'She Kills Monsters' is an adventurous, funny, touching, and empowering tale of heroes, villains, and human nature.” Parking is free in lots 1 & 15 for this performance. Studio Theatre is located at Palomar College, 1140 W. Mission Road in San Marcos, CA 92069. • Join us for a book reading and signing of 'Tits Up': 'What Sex Workers', 'Milk Bankers', 'Plastic Surgeons', 'Bra Designers', and 'Witches Tell Us about Breasts' with author Sarah Thornton. After years of biopsies, best-selling author Sarah Thornton made the difficult decision to have a double mastectomy. But, after her reconstructive surgery, she was perplexed: What had she lost? And gained? An experienced sleuth, she resolved to venture behind the scenes to uncover the social and cultural significance of breasts. About 'Tits Up' Riotous and galvanizing, Tits Up excavates the diverse truths of mammary glands from the strip club to the operating room, from the nation’s oldest human milk bank to the fit rooms of bra designers. Thornton draws insights from plastic surgeons, lactation consultants, body-positive witches, lingerie models, and “free the nipple” activists to explore the status of breasts as emblems of femininity. She examines how women’s chests have become a billion-dollar business, as well as a stage for debates about race, class, gender, and desire. Everywhere she turns, Thornton encounters chauvinist myths about this elemental body part that quietly justify deficits in women’s bodily autonomy and endorse shortfalls in their political status. Blending sociology, reportage, and personal narrative with refreshing optimism and wit, Thornton has one overriding ambition―to liberate breasts from centuries of patriarchal prejudice. About Sarah Thornton Sarah Thornton is a sociologist who writes about art, design, and people. Formerly the chief art market correspondent for The Economist, Thornton is the author of three critically acclaimed books. A Canadian who went to the UK on a Commonwealth Scholarship, Thornton was once hailed as “Britain’s hippest academic.” Now based in San Francisco, Thornton is better known as “the Jane Goodall of the art world.” For Dear Life is among more than 60 exhibitions and programs presented as part of PST ART.
