The Exiles chronicles a night in the life of a group of 20-something Native Americans who left reservation life in the 1950s to live in the Bunker Hill district of Los Angeles. The film is a narrative feature with a script pieced together from interviews with the documentary subjects. As a bonus, attendees will also view a screening of the 1965 short documentary film Bunker Hill. After the films, UC San Diego’s Campus Minister/Religious Advisor Rev. Scott Young will lead a special discussion with a panel of guests, a film reviewer, and attendees about the film. Tickets are $13 for the general public and $11 for students and seniors.
