Learn to wet felt a gorgeous flower! Saturday, May 10, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Join this 3-hour workshop and learn the ancient art of wet felting — the process of loose wool becoming felt. This textile art technique has been used in the making of rugs, homes (yurts) and clothing for centuries. In this workshop, the instructor will guide you, step by step, through the making of a felted flower. Starting with a soft merino wool, you will be creating your own one-of-a-kind flower choosing from a wide selection of dyed wool. After using soap and water to bind the fibers, you will take home a forever flower that will embellish any space. Your flower can be used as a bookmark, tied around a curtain or the strap of a hand bag, placed in a vase or given as a sweet gift…. The possibilities are endless! No experience necessary. Join us Saturday August 9 from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. for the opening reception of "Concussion" curated by acclaimed painter Brady Willmott, hosted by Distinction Gallery. The artwork on show ranges from the off beat and unsettling to the sweet and surreal, though all are a showcase of skill, sophistication and artistic tenacity. A literary celebration is coming to San Diego. More than 40 award-winning authors are participating in interactive panel sessions and book signings at the inaugural San Diego Book Festival taking place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, 10am - 4pm, on the University of San Diego campus.

On April 18 and 19, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido (CCAE) invites the community to witness the mesmerizing art of live glassblowing in the Cal Club Courtyard. This two-day demonstration, led by renowned glass artist James Stone of Stone & Glass, will showcase the precision, artistry, and transformative beauty of molten glass in motion. As part of Arts, Culture, and Creativity Month, this event is more than just a demonstration—it’s a celebration of community, accessibility, and artistic exploration. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with six talented glass artists, including 55Acre Project, each displaying and selling their handcrafted works. This interactive experience provides a rare glimpse into an ancient art form while fostering a deeper appreciation for creativity in all its forms. Hot Glass, Cold Beer: A Fundraiser for the Arts In the spirit of community support and cultural engagement, we are excited to host “Hot Glass, Cold Beer,” a special fundraising initiative benefiting the CCAE Foundation.
