Learn to needle felt! Saturday, April 12, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Have you ever wished you’d stumble upon a tiny fairy house while walking in a deep forest? Join felting artist Sophie Ancel in this 3-hour workshop where you’ll learn to make your own little house using needle felting techniques. Students will use natural wool roving and batting, felt, beads and simple embroidery. The class requires the use of sharp felting needles and we will cover how to safely use felting needles. Guards will also be provided. Each student will have the option of creating a tiny home equipped with a door, window, and decorated with flowers and leaves. This little home can be used as a box as the roof can act as a lid! You will be given a tiny light for added fairy house magic. No experience necessary. Ages 12+ welcome. The Bonita Glarf Celebration is a free community street fair-style event to celebrate the repair and return of the beloved Bonita Glarf dinosaur statues to their display area on Bonita Road. The kids soon discover that the pillow fort is a magical portal to the world of Lotería and their father is trapped inside the game. This year is the 27th annual Mission Hills Garden Walk with the theme "A Garden Walk through Time." Each year different homeowners' gardens are open to the public. This year there are 12 gardens on the Walk. In many yards there will be musicians performing and watercolor artists painting. The first garden is at Grant TK - 8 school, where there is also a morning performance by the school's band and a Bazaar of San Diego artisans explaining and selling their crafts.
