With plenty of space, a laid-back patio that flows seamlessly into indoor seating, a massive bar, and quality pizza just steps away, this is the perfect spot to unwind, sip, and get creative. We’ll be painting a Vintage “Surf Wagon”, a nod to Oceanside’s coastal charm and surf culture. This beginner-friendly class is guided step-by-step, and we’ll be working on a 14×14 canvas, giving you all the room you need to bring your beachy masterpiece to life. The San Diego Arab Film Festival is back for 2025 with live, in-person presentations of feature length and short films at the Museum of Photographic Arts. The festival will open on Friday, April 4, and present 8 screenings, each showcasing one feature film and one short film (except for one that has 2 shorts), from across the Arab World. Each evening, the festival will also offer cafeteria-style Arabic dinner. This year we have decided to emphasize films from or about countries that are under attack: Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen. Our opening and closing night features are from Palestine (including the Academy Award winner No Other Land), and each screening includes a short film from or about Palestine–including a powerful film about Gaza submitted by a filmmaker in Iran. The Festival also includes films from Egypt and Tunisia, both of which were submitted to the Oscars in the International Film category, and one from Algeria, a docu-drama about Frantz Fanon set at the beginning of the Algerian revolution. We are excited to bring these films to the San Diego community! Tickets are on sale now, with individual screenings at $15 (discounted to $12 for students), 3-ticket packages for $40 and Festival passes for all 8 screenings for $80. "Stages of Womanhood" is a powerful exhibition showcasing the works of three female artists exploring themes of identity, transformation, and resilience through their unique creative lenses. The exhibition will run from March 1 to March 31, 2025, at Artist & Craftsman Supply, 3804 Fourth Ave, San Diego, CA 92103, and will also be featured virtually with Ali Jay Fine Art Gallery in ArtGateVR. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, March 8, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. "Stages of Womanhood" showcases three distinct artistic voices, weaving deeply personal stories that illuminate the universal themes of femininity, motherhood, and self-discovery.

Coffee with Kafka and the UCSD German Studies Program present a free screening of "The Glory of Life," the award-winning film about the surprising love affair between the literary genius Franz Kafka and his last love, Dora Diamant, in the last year of his life. The film is open to the public and will be screened on the UCSD campus at the Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts at UCSD. "The Glory of Life" premiered in 2024 in Berlin and has been nominated for three national German Film Awards. Project [BLANK] continues its tradition as San Diego’s most innovative producer of opera, with a new production that busts open the operatic form and scatters its pieces throughout a public park. PARK OPERA is a one-of-a-kind interdisciplinary arts experience, free and open to the public. Staged outdoors in a public park, audiences receive a map and follow a wandering course through a landscape filled with music, art, and movement. Listeners of all ages will discover unexpected delights as they explore the park, igniting the imagination, activating the senses, and encouraging us to become “all ears.” In the process, we all can gain a deeper appreciation for our urban natural spaces, and consider the impact our presence leaves on our beautiful landscape.
