  • All are invited to attend the inaugural Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts "Fellowship Forum", an afternoon of film screenings and panel discussions celebrating the diverse artistic work of fellows from across the UC San Diego community. This event showcases cinematic work produced by over a dozen graduate students, faculty, staff and recent undergraduate alumni who represent the first to receive a fellowship from the Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts. The fellowship awards provide support for cinematic research and production projects with a goal of enhancing the creative and academic community. The forum will feature three, 45-minute segments of film screenings and panel discussions, concluding with a celebratory reception of light refreshments. The projects highlighted in the Fellowship Forum span an impressive range—from narratives of conflict and violence in Columbia’s mining industry, to a philosophical deepfake of Drew Barrymore, cosmic opera and so much more.
