Hop on by with your basket between 10 a.m. and Noon at Poinsettia Park and we will pass out eggs and treats right through your car window, ensuring you stay dry! Our bunny can’t wait to meet you and make your day egg-stra special. Join us for the City of Carlsbad’s EGGstravaganza event on Saturday, March 30 at Poinsettia Community Park. The event features face-painting, crafts and an egg scramble where kids race to collect candy-filled eggs. No registration is required to attend. How the egg scramble works: The egg scramble is ongoing from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or until eggs run out. To keep the scramble fun for all ages, one field will be designated for children ages 6 and over who want to race for their eggs, and an identical one will be for children ages 5 and under. There is also a noncompetitive field for young children, children with special needs, and for families wanting to pose for a photo opportunity. No registration is needed to attend. To avoid lines during the event, $5 activity cards and $5 unlimited fun zone wrist bands can be purchased in advance at city community centers. The cards can be divided among multiple children for all the activities; however, wristbands are per person. Proof that we’re not just about apples and great pie, we have growers and producers of wine, craft beer,, craft cocktails, and delicious hard cider, offering up a sampling of their delicious hand-crafted specialties. As in previous years, the event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and gives tasters time to enjoy their samples paired with small bites at each venue, take in the scenery, and spend a relaxing day enjoying the sights and sounds of Julian. Ticket holders enjoy a self-guided day throughout Julian to visit the various participating locations. “Summer is a beautiful time in Julian and this event allows you to sample the region’s fine crafted beverages, taste gourmet bites, and explore the backcountry.” “It’s a perfect excuse to book a quaint room and make it a weekend adventure!” Attendees will receive a commemorative glass and wine tote. Age verification, along with distribution of maps and logo glasses begins at 10 a.m. the day of the event at the Julian Chamber of Commerce located at Town Hall, 2129 Main Street. This event is a fundraising benefit for Julian’s Annual Country Christmas and Tree Lighting Celebration happening each November in Julian. This annual event ushers in the holiday season with music and lighting the town Christmas tree. Julian is an historic community located in the San Diego County Mountains at an elevation of 4200 feet. Quaint shops and restaurants, unique bed and breakfasts, hotels, and lodges all welcome visitors to enjoy a getaway in the country. Jason Rogers and Stefani N. Von Huben are bringing together a hilarious line-up of comics including: Host Jason Rogers, John Campanelli, Brett Dodenhoff, Sal Mascali, Cole Klayman and San Diego’s own, Pamela Wardrip. It's going to be a fun night of comedy for a cause in support of Foster the Earth. Proceeds from tickets sales will be donated to Foster the Earth: a 501c3 volunteer-run nonprofit that provides transformative hiking and backpacking experiences to vulnerable foster children and young adults with limited access to the outdoors. Foster the Earth is dedicated to helping underserved youth in foster care connect with nature. Their program provides: educational wilderness immersion in which participants build skills and self-confidence; imparts a sense of wonder and awe; and inspires these underserved youth to become future advocates to protect our world’s wild places.
