  • Everyday Dances III is a concert of ten new, short choreographic works by visionary choreographers based in San Diego, performed by the renowned Malashock Dance Company. Malashock Dance produces the annual “Everyday Dances” concert to support its mission to illuminate dance as an invaluable part of the human experience, creating a hub where artists come together to create new work and connect with audiences.   • The 46th annual Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands will showcase the finest in musical and artistic pageantry, with approximately 30 high school marching bands from across San Diego County and Southern California scheduled to compete. Field performances by small bands will take place in the morning (9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) at Mt. Carmel High School’s Sundevil Stadium, with field shows by larger bands set for the afternoon and evening (3 p.m.-9 p.m.). Following the morning field shows will be a free parade band competition on the Mt. Carmel High School campus (12:30 p.m.-1:45 p.m.). Food, drink and merchandise concessions will be available during the field shows. Field show tickets can be purchased in advance online, or the day of the tournament at the ticket window. Field show tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors, military and students; and free for kids under 3. Reserved seating is available for $25. Tickets include admission to both the morning and afternoon/evening field show performances. Attendees also can enjoy an exhibition performance by San Diego State University’s marching band during the evening field show. Parking is recommended in the neighborhoods surrounding Mt. Carmel High. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Mt. Carmel Music Foundation.
