Ephraim Reitman started playing guitar at twelve years old and developed an affinity for Latin based music. He began playing with the local musicians in his Philadelphia neighborhood. At 15 he started studying percussion with Butch Ballard, a drummer for Count Basie and Duke Ellington, which in turn help his guitar playing. In 1976 he joined The Wire and Wood Band as a percussionist and vocalist. He is currently the percussionist for Elegencia Doub’le, a piano duo. Don Boyd was born Pomona, CA (many, many decades ago). He attended Mount San Antonio College, Cal State Los Angeles. He studied Jazz and played in various Jazz groups and multiple Top-40 bands from 1977 through present day. Married Rita Boyd on June 25 1994 and moved to Oceanside in September 1994. He has three amazing children; Wyatt Boyd, Savannah Boyd and Gabriel Boyd (ages 24 - 28). Ephraim and Donn met in the Fall of 2022 and formed Alchemy shortly after, finding common musical ground in their love for blues, jazz, folk and Latin compositions. Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead): This annual celebration brings together local and regional talents celebrating the visual and performing arts related to a major Mexican cultural event. Established to foster an appreciation and awareness of Latino Cultural Celebration, Dia de los Muertos offers free family-friendly programming to North County residents of Latino heritage while uniting people of all backgrounds and traditions. Visitors experience a variety of art-making workshops, artist demonstrations, student exhibitions, live Mariachi and other musical performances while having an opportunity to actively participate in a “Community Ofrenda,” a public recognition of family and friends. Join the Library for an afternoon of opera as soprano Gabriella Rodmac takes the stage for "The Girl from the West." She'll be accompanied by Michele Scanlon in a performance featuring Spanish boleros, "West Side Story" highlights and some Italian favorites. Doors open at 12:45 p.m. About Gabriella Rodmac Born in San Diego, California and raised also in Tijuana, Mexico. Gabriella began her musical journey at a very young age performing at school concerts and as a member of the local church choir. She studied classical singing at the Conservatorio de la OBC in Tijuana after which she enrolled as a Dramatic Arts major and music minor at Mesa College in San Diego. Gabriella continued her theatrical studies in Madrid, Spain at the Escuela Superior de Artes y Espectaculos. In 2010 Gabriella performed the role of Carmen in a production of Bizet's opera at Festival De Opera en la Calle with Opera de Tijuana. She continued her collaboration with them until 2012 including the role of Lola in "Cavalleria Rusticana." After obtaining her Bachelor’s in Classical Singing at Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan she went on to debut her first operatic role in a production of Mozart's "Don Giovanni" at Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto, Italy, where she went back to perform the role of Kate Pinkerton in "Puccini's Madama Butterfly." She was Tosca in a concert form production of "Puccini's Opera" at Teatro Gatto in Switzerland and reprised the role of Donna Elvira in a production of "Don Giovanni" in Varese, Italy. She was Maria in a Scuola Civica Claudio Abbado's production of "West Side Story" and reprised the role in two other occasions in the city of Milan. She recently performed the roles of La Fata Turchina and La Volpe in a production of Natalia Valli's "Pinocchio" and Serafina in Opera Italia’s production of "Donizetti’s Il Campanello" in Los Angeles. She currently trains and performs in Italy where she also resides. Gabriella is currently on her second consecutive season on the 2024-2025 Singer Roster at Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto, one of Italy’s most important opera companies and an official member of the historical choir Corale Monzese in Italy. Gabriella is known for the warmth and roundness of her voice as well as for the extended range and versatility. Her recent collaboration with the city of Coronado brought about the sold out concert: "Le Stagioni dell'Amore (The Season's of Love)." Gabriella has sung at numerous prestigious venues including but not limited to Vigorelli Stadium in Milan, Italy where she was invited to sing the US National Anthem in collaboration with the U.S Consulate of Milan, at the XXV Italian Super Bowl. Trinity Theatre Company is thrilled to announce their Grown Up Stage’s production of "IFs (Imaginary Friends)" by Thomas J. Misuraca running from November 28th - December 14th. The production is directed by Mia Spencer. "IFs (Imaginary Friends)" runs at Trinity’s Mission Valley location in the Mission Valley Mall. She laments with her other recently released imaginary friends, knowing unless something changes, they’ll cease to exist. When their peer Dab, confesses that he’s been hanging out with an older woman who can see him, the others want to meet her. Bea ends up only able to see Pippin, but introduces them to some of her senior friends, and all but one imaginary friend now have real friends once again. But dealing with older friends has its challenges. Bea’s daughter, Jenna, is overly concerned for her mother. Even more so after Bea breaks her hip while “playing” with her friends. As Bea’s health continues to decline, her friends must fight for their rights as older folks. Trinity Theatre Artistic Director, Sean Boyd shared “We are big fans of Thomas Miscuraca’s work at Trinity Theatre Company and have shared a number of his pieces over the years including 'The Stark Truth of Humanity' and 'A Good Game.'
