She is a writer, and her commentary has been featured on CNN, Huffington Post, and Public Radio International. Dr. Sanchez was selected as a Spring 2021 Teaching Fellow for the Pulitzer Center and a member of the 2019-2020 Teacher Advisory Council for the National Humanities Center.
