  • Learn to wet felt a gorgeous flower! November 14, 5-8 p.m. Join this 3-hour workshop and learn the ancient art of wet felting — the process of loose wool becoming felt. This textile art technique has been used in the making of rugs, homes (yurts) and clothing for centuries. In this workshop, the instructor will guide you, step by step, through the making of a felted flower. Starting with a soft merino wool, you will be creating your own one-of-a-kind flower choosing from a wide selection of dyed wool. After using soap and water to bind the fibers, you will take home a forever flower that will embellish any space. Your flower can be used as a bookmark, tied around a curtain or the strap of a hand bag, placed in a vase or given as a sweet gift…. The possibilities are endless! No experience necessary. Ages 14+ welcome. • Military and sibling discounts • Scholarships available • Homeschool funds accepted • If this class is full, join the Interest List. • If you would like to be notified of future offerings, join the Interest List to be notified when new dates or spaces are available.

  • Monday, November 11 from 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. This Woodworking Camp is all about building and designing in wood! Children will learn about the safe use of tools as well as the properties of wood while making projects. We’ll be upcycling wood and 2x4s into step stools, seating, and game prototypes. Projects and depth of skill exploration are matched up to the children’s age/ability. The first part of the day is structured around a step stool project so that campers can learn tool safety and get comfortable with our materials and workflow. The 2nd part of the camp will encourage children to sketch their ideas and designs, invent fun games that we can work on in small groups, and try out different building methods to see what works best as we spend the afternoon creatively constructing, engineering, and exploring all things wood! This camp is recommended for children 8-12 years. Some power tools will be used. Transfer from Another Liberty Station Arts Camp Optional | No Charge If your child is in another camp in Liberty Station Arts District that ends as ours begins and you need your child transferred, let us know! We’re happy to have a staff member walk your child from one camp to this one. Lunch Hour Supervision Optional | $5/hour If you’d like your child to stay during the lunch hour, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., there’s a $5 fee for the hour to cover the lunchtime gap. They can bring a lunch to eat, with the option to do a fun craft after lunch. • Military and sibling discounts Visit: Veteran’s Day Kids Woodworking Camp | 8-12yrs San Diego Craft Collective on Instagram and Facebook
  • The Front Arte y Cultura and Kilikili Project present “Don’t Look at Me” a video concert screening previously filmed at The FRONT Arte Cultura on the day of the solar eclipse, April 8th 2024. Kilikili is the brainchild of Lexi Pulido, birthed under her original jazz alternative quintet, now the psuedonym for ensemble variations of her original compositions. For this performance, Pulido worked alongside Katie Berns and Ryan Ebaugh to deliver arrangements of spoken word, powerfully-woven melodic play, and physically challenging, theatrical gestures. From the artist, "'Don’t look at me' liberates the artist from ego, bowing to the role as vessel over self." The event runs 5 - 7 p.m.The film itself lasts 30 minutes and will be preceded by a brief artist presentation beginning around 5:30 p.m. Following the film, attendees will be invited to partake in homemade rice krispies wrapped in the excess red plastic wrap she has used in multiple performances throughout 2024 as a symbol of shame, an invitation to "peel back the layers" of shame to access pleasure. This event is free, and we request your RSVP to get a head count going!
