NoSilence NoViolence, a local San Diego volunteer run non-profit works to reduce the incidence, trauma and stigma of domestic violence by creating awareness, providing support, empowerment and shifting perspectives. Help support us by purchasing tickets to our Soiree for Survivors fundraiser on Oct. 19, 2023 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Lot 8, 1201 Hotel Circle S, San Diego. This annual event generates the bulk of our funds that go to support our survivors for the year. We take pride in being an organization that lifts up survivors and their families by providing support groups, paying for necessities such as transportation, child care, food/diapers, legal services or trauma therapy. The San Dieguito Art Guild presents its 12th annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive (corner of Encinitas Blvd and Balour), Encinitas. The Guild is a 200-member all-volunteer nonprofit organization that operates the Off Track Gallery located in the Lumberyard Shopping Center in Encinitas. The Guild does incredible work in promoting and supporting local artists in the Encinitas area. Karen Fidel, one of the event organizers, says, “This event gives local artists a venue to offer their hand-made items to the public. Our customers are presented with unique and original creations directly from the artists themselves, which adds a personal touch to each purchase.” Linda Melvin, a local artist and member of the San Dieguito Art Guild, shares her excitement about the Holiday Bazaar, saying, “I look forward to this event every year. It’s a great opportunity for artists like me to showcase our work and connect with the community. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.” There will be a Silent Auction of artworks donated by the participating artists.
