Promises2Kids has partnered with local restaurants to raise funds for more than 2,000 current and former foster children in San Diego County in honor of National Foster Care Month. Each restaurant will designate a select menu item which will support the Foodies 4 Foster Kids campaign. Funds raised will benefit foster children by reuniting siblings living apart in foster care, supporting foster youth in reaching their educational and career goals, providing opportunities for children to participate in extracurricular activities, and providing an emergency shelter where children feel safe, cared for, and out of harm’s way. Copperplate is the most commonly recognized traditional calligraphy script, making it a must-have for every calligrapher. Even if you are a lover of Modern calligraphy, learning Copperplate will help you to develop your own style! Space is limited, so be sure to register early. Instructor: Claudia Strenger Class Size: 8 students Who should attend? This class is encouraged for students of all levels, including someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. Modern calligraphers who want to learn the basics of Traditional Copperplate calligraphy. Lefties are welcome :) In this 6-week session, we will cover: The basics of pointed pen calligraphy. How to create thick and thin strokes with a pointed pen. Step-by-step instructions on the Copperplate alphabet, both uppercase and lowercase.
