  • Sunday, June 15, from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Come and explore the gorgeous natural blue of indigo in this Fiber Fest Sunday workshop. Students will learn a range of shibori dye resist processes in this hands-on, creative workshop, including tegumo (spiderweb), ori nui (stitched), and itajime (clamped) shibori methods. We will be using a natural indigo vat to dye a bamboo scarf and better understand the process and symbiotic relationship with indigo dye and this traditional textile surface design. Students will acquire the basic techniques to continue their journey into creating beautiful, unique textiles. This class is appropriate for ages 14+ years old. No prior experience necessary. All ages welcome! All materials included. This workshop is part of Craft Collective’s 2nd annual Fiber Fest!   • Learn to Weave in the Round! Sunday, June 15, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Join Instructor Jess Pickering for a circular weaving workshop where you’ll create a one-of-a-kind woven wall hanging. In this Sunday class, you’ll learn both basic and intermediate weaving techniques such as tabby stitch, rya, and soumak, while exploring texture, color, and composition on a circular hoop. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, Jess will guide you through the process to bring your unique vision to life. All materials are provided—just bring your creativity!   • Fiber Fest Drop Spindles! Sunday, June 15 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. We are excited to offer this fun woodworking workshop on Sunday for Fiber Fest! Join us for a morning of fiber & woodworking friendship and camaraderie. This workshop is geared for fiber enthusiasts, menders, and beginners interested in making their own drop spindles for spinning yarn. This is a special offering in conjunction with Fiber Fest, a 3-day celebration of wool as a sustainable material. This 3-hour woodworking workshop will acquaint students with a woodturning lathe, its parts, the tools needed, safety tips, tool sharpening techniques and how to shape wood on a lathe. The class will consist of students learning to round a piece of square stock, learning the four basic cuts and turning a drop spindle as their take home project. Ages 16 years and older.
