The three authors will discuss their historical novel "The Casebook of Qing and Xmucane," wherein Qing, a young officer in the Chinese Imperial Navy journeys to Mexico with the fleet of Admiral Zheng He in the early 15th century of the Roman calendar. He meets Xmucane, an elderly shamaness living on the outskirts of the Tarascan empire. Together they form a formidable pair of investigators, solving crimes large and small. The process of writing historical fiction, the characters and themes of the story, and the joys and complications of being a team of authors who have known each other for a long time will be discussed. This event will be held on Zoom. Ticket purchases of $30 and over will receive a signed edition of "The Casebook of Qing and Xmucane" by B.E.L. Coulson. The “Share the Love” event, hosted by Kearny Mesa Subaru and Meals on Wheels San Diego County, is free and open to the public and brings together some of San Diego’s best food truck eats, all in support of local nonprofits, including Meals on Wheels San Diego County. The event will include festive holiday decorations and a special appearance from the President and CEO of Meals on Wheels San Diego County, Brent Wakefield, dressed up as Santa Claus! All food truck vendors will have tasty bites available for purchase, including The Groovy Greek, Epic Eats and Born in Brooklyn. Attendees will also enjoy local celebrity judges and Santa Claus choosing their favorite food truck for the "Best Dish" award. Inspired by original research from nearly 1,600 women from the kink community, you will journey into the motivations, meanings, and benefits of kink in these women’s own words. People throughout the world are extremely creative in designing relationships and a life that best suits their needs. This book illustrates how these people come together in play, in romance, in love, in sex, in friendship, and in community. Doors open at 6 P.M. for light refreshments and the book talk will start at 6:30 P.M. Books will be available for purchase. This special event is open to those 18 and older.
