  • In this class you will make a gorgeous, shaped belt bag perfect for your own adventures or gifting. The skills taught in this class include: how to sew darts; sewing a lined welt zip; bias binding; and bag hardware installation. Fabric options will be available, however, feel free to bring heavyweight scraps (denim, velvet, canvas) or vinyl. This bag is highly customizable. An alternative to the webbing strap could be repurposing an old belt, or from a bag you no longer use. Thrift stores are full of interesting belts and hardware to harvest from bags! This class is appropriate for a sewer with knowledge of how to use a sewing machine and sewing basics. If you are new to sewing, please check out our Sewing Fundamentals | Meet the Machine or Family & Beginners Sewing 101 | Sewing Machine Basics before enrolling. If you are bringing your own sewing machine, it is very important to make sure it is fully functional. The bag pattern is the Nikola Pouch by Liberty Crossroads. This class is appropriate for ages 14 years and older. Materials fee of $18 (cash only) to be paid to the instructor at the start of the class. • Military and sibling discounts. • Scholarships available. • Homeschool vendor funds accepted. • If this class is full, join our Interest List.
