  • Tee times at Torrey Pines and Balboa Park golf courses have become increasingly hard to get. Some golfers say hackers are likely using bots to hoover up tee times and then selling them on the secondary market. City officials say they have not found evidence of this.
  • McAlister Institute is excited to host its 13th Annual 5K Walk for Sobriety on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at NTC Park in Liberty Station. This event serves as a way to bring help and hope to the thousands of individuals and families struggling through the unforgiving cycle of addiction and marks McAlister Institute’s 48th year of transforming lives, one person at a time. The Walk for Sobriety is not only an opportunity to raise funds for life-saving services, but also a positive way to increase awareness and support the power of recovery. Walkers, runners, and online supporters can spread a powerful message on the day of the walk by wearing the number of days they—or their loved ones—have been clean and sober, and what it means to them. Registration costs $35 per adult and $5 per child (ages 12 and under). All proceeds from the Walk for Sobriety benefit McAlister Institute, one of San Diego's leading resources for substance abuse treatment and recovery programs.   • Artistic Director, Christian Tordahl takes the stage again leading the talented Hillcrest Wind Ensemble for what promises to be a night of fun and excitement. The ensemble presents “Summer Fun” a collection of light wind ensemble music and music from movies and the Broadway stage, on Saturday, June 28, at Linder Hall at the First United Methodist Church of San Diego, 2111 Camino del Rio South, in Mission Valley.
