  • In a dystopian near-future Japan, law and order is enforced by a brutal paramilitary police unit known as the Kerberos Panzer Cops aka ‘Watchdogs of Hell’, equipped with heavy weaponry and reinforced body armor called “Protect Gear.” However, when their extreme methods spark public outcry, the government moves to dismantle the unit. Disobeying orders to disband, a trio of officers stage a rebellion—but only one, Koichi Todome (Shigeru Chiba) escapes. Three years later, Koichi returns to Tokyo after living in exile, carrying a mysterious suitcase. He seeks to reunite with his former comrades and uncover the truth behind the crackdown, but he soon finds himself in a surreal and dreamlike city—a shadow of its former self, filled with strange characters, elusive memories, and Kafkaesque absurdity. As reality begins to unravel Koichi descends deeper into paranoia, unable to tell friend from foe truth from illusion. A philosophical blend of film noir, political allegory, and existential mystery, "The Red Spectacles" is a visually striking black comedy that meditates on justice, memory, and the cost of loyalty. It also serves as Mamoru Oshii’s foray into live-action filmmaking and his first feature installment in the Kerberos Saga.
  • Not many people get to realize their early dreams. Dave Nachmanoff has toured the world, both on his own, and as the guitarist and opening act for Al Stewart (“Year of the Cat”, “Time Passages”), at venues as far ranging as the Royal Albert Hall in London, to The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. From performing with folk legend Elizabeth “Libba” Cotten at the age of nine, to playing in a rock band with his two brothers, Dave went on to earn a PhD in Philosophy at UC Davis and slowly built a grassroots following touring all over the world. In addition, he writes and records custom songs for clients and uses his recording studio to produce other artists. For this special show, he will be joined by Mike Lindauer on bass and vocals and Nick Carvajal on drums and vocals. Local musician, Omar Musisko, will be opening for Dave Nachmanoff. Two-time San Diego Music Award nominee (with The Peripherals and The Spiritual Motels) Omar Musisko crafts genre-bending, eclectic indie-folk music that weaves vulnerability and dark humor into poetic songs that search for beauty in the hurt. • Art All Ways Projects proudly presents "Driven to Transform: Art, Service, and the Spirit of Giving," a curated exhibition and fundraising initiative in collaboration with the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station and the Vista Library. Opening Saturday, December 9, the exhibition honors the strength, resilience, and creative voices of Southern California veterans while celebrating the transformative power of contemporary art. The exhibition runs until Jan. 17. Curated by Hoojung Lee, Director/Curator of Art All Ways Projects, the exhibition brings together artists whose work explores transformation, humanity, identity, and renewal through bold visual expression. Featured artists include Retna, Salomon Huerta, Ana Morales-Huerta, Justin Bower, Carlos Ramirez, Umar Rashid, Simphiwe Ndzube, Nyame Brown, Jay Sylvester, Ann Bedrick, Ryan Campbell, Cristopher Cichocki, Juan Carlos Muñoz Hernandez (a.k.a. Heaven), and Zes, alongside veteran artists Wm Marquez (a.k.a. Wm Schinsky), Reginald Green, and Steven Dilley from the Southern California veteran art community. The opening reception will feature a live painting activation by acclaimed graffiti artist Juan Carlos Muñoz Hernandez (a.k.a. Heaven), as well as a collaborative “Transformation Table” where veteran artists and contemporary artists will work together on a large, evolving canvas created specifically for this exhibition. These interactive elements invite visitors to witness creativity in motion and experience the exhibition’s theme of transformation firsthand. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, Driven to Transform offers visitors a space to reflect on resilience—both personal and collective—while building meaningful bridges between the arts and the veteran community. A portion of the proceeds from artwork sold during the exhibition will benefit the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, whose mission is to support, empower, and uplift wounded and injured veterans on their path toward recovery and reintegration into civilian life.
