  • Saturday, August 16, from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Ages 13+ years welcome! In this 2.5-hour, beginner-friendly ceramics workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of slab building while creating a one-of-a-kind altar infused with memory, meaning, and intention. Your finished piece can serve as a centerpiece for meditation, a space for prayer, or simply a beautiful expression of your personal story. Using slab-building techniques, you’ll design an altar that stands on a tabletop or hangs on the wall—perfect for holding your most cherished items, whether it’s crystals, candles, or that strangely comforting beach rock you’ve carried for years. This project is about shaping a space for reflection, connection, and quiet power. Feel free to bring any personal objects you’d like to incorporate or size your altar around. Projects will be handcrafted with speckled B-mix clay rather than the dark clay body in the photograph. Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after class. No experience necessary. All materials and tools provided. • Military, first responders and sibling discounts • Scholarships available • Homeschool funds accepted • If this class is full, join the Interest List to be notified. • If you would like to be notified of future offerings, join the Interest List to be notified when new dates or spaces are available.
