Many Evangelicals Join Growing Environmental Movement

Audio

Tom Fudge : And God said, “Be fruitful and increase in number. Fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

That is a line from Genesis, which seems to offer Christians a very human-centric view of their relation to the environment. Bible verses like this give the impression that fundamentalist Christianity is not very earth friendly. But there is more than one way to interpret scripture. And there is a growing movement of evangelical environmentalists. Their movement goes by several names. One of them is Creation Care. And Scott Sabin is part of the movement.

Guest
  • Scott Sabin , executive director of Floresta, a Christian non-profit organization, which is involved in reversing deforestation and poverty in the world.
