Former City Attorney Mike Aguirre Discusses Current Projects, Goals for Future

Tom Fudge: Mike Aguirre is best know for his four years as San Diego City Attorney, and his battles with the Mayor and the Council. But Aguirre has spent decades fighting what he considers to be the good fight, in the courtroom and in city hall. And anyone who knows him knows that's unlikely to come to an end.

The venue for Aguirre has changed, and now he's going back into private law practice. It may be no surprise that he has chosen to take on a subject that is at the center of the minds of Americans today. I'm talking about those mysterious and, often, unregulated financial markets that have contributed to our recent financial calamity. In Aguirre's case, it's the market for credit derivatives.
