San Diegans Will Weigh In on Bay Front Redevelopment

Tom Fudge : In California, voters get to make a lot of political decisions, thanks to our system of direct democracy. And one of the proposals that might make it to the ballot would impose a new property tax on San Diego county residents to pay for fire fighting. The question of whether to put the question to voters is being debated by county supervisors today.

Also, would you go shopping if the store you were going to was sitting atop of a shipping dock? Some developers have managed to get a question on the ballot: It asks whether to put additional stories on top of the 10th Avenue Terminal to be used as hotels rooms and retail stores.
