Drought Water Bank Created to Supply Communities Facing Shortages

Tom Fudge: The state of California has created a "water bank". This was one of the actions that came out of a Drought Summit last week, hosted by the California Department of Water Resources. The whole of California is suffering from years of low rainfall and snowfall. And, environmental concerns have made it more difficult to transfer water from the Sacramento Delta. The Drought Water Bank is a trade system that allows some water-rich counties to sell reserves to other counties and water districts that need it.
