Saturday at the Con. This used to be the BIG day but I can't see how it could top what's already happened. We've already had a trio of first timers with the appearances of Terry Gillima, Hayao Miyazaki, and Peter Jackson. How much better can it get?
Well, you could check out Quick Draw (11:15 a.m., Room 6BCF) in which cartoonist do improv drawings. This is a delight and should not be missed. And it's followed by Cartoon Voices (12:30pm, Room 6BCF), which can also be a hoot.
The Anniversary panels continue with Comic-Con in the '90s (1:00 p.m., Room 2) and Comic-Con: El Cortez Memories (5:00 p.m., Room 2).
In terms of the Comic-Con International Film Festival, there's the dryly funny "Death in Charge" at 1:00 p.m., the passionate doc "Dig Comics" at 6:30 p.m., and the amazing doc on Italian a pulpy Italian photo novel "The Diabolikal Super Kriminal" at 8:50 p.m.. (All films are in Room 26AB).
Also of note today is the spotlight on June Foray (2:30 p.m., Room 2AB), a "Zombieland" panel (2:45 p.m., Hall H), Robert Downey, Jr. making his second appearance at the Con for "Iron Man 2" (4:00 p.m., Hall H), Mike Mignola on "HellBoy" (4:30 p.m., Room 4), Kevin Smith makes his annual appearance (5:15 p.m., Hall H), Harvey Kurtzman of MAD Magazine (6:00 p.m., Room 3), and something that might just be too good to pass up -- The Troma Roast (6:30 p.m. at the new venue of the Indigo Ballroom at the Bayfront Hilton.
Then finish out the evening with Zack Snyder doing a commentary track for his director's cut of "Watchmen" (8:30 p.m., Room 6BCF).
