San Diego Weekend: Blondes Reading Faulkner, Birds, and Ice Cream
Monday, March 23, 2009
There must have been a lot of birders out this weekend because my San Diego tour through Flickr yielded plenty of feathered creatures. I included one of them here. Also, in the interest of full disclosure, the image titled "!" by elladog was taken by Aaryn Belfer, a friend of mine and a regular contributer to Culture Lust . Look for her review of the book The Believers by Zo & euml; Heller later this week. & I included the picture of her daughter Ruby because it meets my criteria and it's off-the-charts cute. & Some have asked how I find the photos I choose for San Diego Weekend. & At the end of the weekend, I conduct an "advanced search" on Flickr, searching tags, titles and text for "San Diego." & I select my favorites from the 3,500 (on average, depending on when I do the search on Sunday) photos that result. & At least 25% of those photos are composed of zoo, Wild Animal Park, and pandacam pics (I quickly scroll through these). & So keep tagging your photos with San Diego and they'll be included in my search process. & Happy Monday!
