We’re in the final hours of the special election for San Diego County’s District 1 supervisor. KPBS checks in at a voting center in National City to see how the day is unfolding as the 8 p.m. deadline approaches.
District 1 includes much of the South Bay and parts of the city of San Diego. The outcome of this race will determine control of the five-member county Board of Supervisors, which was previously held by a Democratic majority but is now evenly split between two Democrats and two Republicans.
