Police are interviewing more than 60 people to determine why a San Diego taxi driver plowed through a crowded sidewalk, injuring more than 30 people during the weekend.
Lt. Rick O'Hanlon says a total of 35 people were injured between the 2 a.m. Saturday accident and the ensuing fight when some in the crowd started beating the driver and smashing his cab's windows.
O'Hanlon says one woman had her leg severed and remains hospitalized. He says a 45-year-old man broke a leg. The others have been released from the hospital.
Authorities say the 48-year-old cab driver sustained a broken nose. Police have made no arrests.
Police say the crash did not appear to be intentional, and alcohol was not involved.
