Rep. Joe Walsh isn't letting up on his criticism of veteran Tammy Duckworth, who lost both legs in the Iraq War. His beef? Walsh, who has never been in the military, says Duckworth is talking too much about her service.

Walsh said on the CNN program The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer (on the Fourth of July, no less) that:

"All she does, guys, is talk about her service."

Duckworth is Walsh's opponent in the race for an Illinois congressional seat.

Walsh originally came under fire earlier this week when a video of him surfaced in which he told a crowd that Duckworth wasn't a "true hero" because she talks about her military service.

According to CNN, Duckworth lost both legs and the use of one arm when the Black Hawk helicopter she was piloting was shot down in Iraq in 2004. She currently serves as a lieutenant colonel in the Illinois Army National Guard.

Duckworth's campaign manager, Kaitlin Fahey, released a statement this week that says, in part:

"Congressman Walsh's comments insult those who sacrificed to make this country free. Tammy is proud of her over twenty years of service with the Army and her family's legacy of fighting for this country. We can't recognize our servicemen and women enough and ask that we keep them in our thoughts during this holiday week."
