A Texas grand jury indicted Marine veteran Eddie Ray Routh Wednesday on two counts of capital murder in the deaths of "American Sniper" Chris Kyle and Kyle's friend, Chad Littlefield, according to the Associated Press.
Kyle, a former Navy SEAL and author of the bestselling memoir American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History, was killed alongside Littlefield at a Texas shooting range in February.
Routh's parents have said their son was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder brought on by his service in the Iraq War when he allegedly killed Kyle and Littlefield.
Dallas television station KXAS-TV reports had sought help from the VA for his PTSD.
Routh is being held in jail on $3 million bail.
