President Barack Obama is slated to visit Camp Pendleton on August 7 to thank Marines and their families for all of their sacrifices to our country.

U-T San Diego quotes White House spokesman Jay Carney as saying Obama will head to the base next week...

"...to visit with troops and their families and to thank them for their extraordinary service to our nation."

Before his stop at Camp Pendleton, the president will give a speech in Phoenix on August 6 regarding his plans to help responsible homeowners, according to Politico.

After leaving Phoenix, Obama will head to Burbank, California for an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Then, it's off to Camp Pendleton for a visit with the troops and their families.
